My paintings are informed by my love of the people, faces and places of my native New York City and my adopted home town of Ithaca, New York.

In my portrait work, I try to capture the rock star in everyone, whether you can carry a tune or not. I strive to create portraits that depict motion, progression, or a life lived over time.

With every new urban landscape I create, each painting marks another block of Manhattan or corner of Ithaca I have explored and can call my own.

I paint from photos I've taken using a simple palette of white, yellow, blue, red and black on a small inverted steel garbage can cover, ala Nick Nolte’s Lionel Dobbie character in Martin Scorsese’s Life Lessons from the film, New York Stories.
