The next training program, scheduled for Jan. 15, 2004 ( 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) at the Association of the Bar of the City of New York, prepares and certifies attorneys to become pro-bono arbitrators in the Small Claims Parts of the New York City Civil Court in all five boroughs. Participants must have a minimum of five years admitted to the New York Bar in order to be eligible.

Starting Jan. 1, 2004, the Small Claims Parts now hear claims for up to $5,000.
