Now it seems to be about witness casting. From the strange but true files, check out the web site of www.lawactors.com. If you need a witness for a mock trial, they'll be there. Of course, I always thought the point of a mock trial was to have your witnesses there, not actors.
. . . or at least that's the implication of an Associated Press story (10/8/04: link broken) about Imageos -- a company which has designed a moving van equipped with 13 digital cameras that synchronize captured images with global positioning data. Think of aerial photography but from ground level. The end result could be a software application that let's you punch in an address and see the condition of a front of a building or street on a given date.
