Courts in NYC are open today per the OCA website . . .

To see whether Courts are open or closed, you can always check the home page of the OCA Court system at http://nycourts.gov/home.htm. Courts in Nassau and Suffolk are closed today, Wednesday, January 28, 2004, but Courts in New York City and New York State are OPEN, as of the announcement at 6:30 a.m. today.

Issue: How do I find the record owner of a residential premises?

Solution: Run the address (from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. EST) at the Property Address Search page of the NYC Department of Finance. In addition to obtaining the name of the property tax record owner, you can ascertain the block and lot number of the particular property. Try also running the block and lot number at the Office of the City Register search page. There you will find scanned images of documents on file related to the premises including deeds.

CourtAlert.com has added new Supreme Court New York County ex parte forms to its voluminous form index. From the main page, chose "forms" at the top bar of the page and select "Ex Parte, etc."
